Stephen Mills enjoys photographing people and their activities.

Since 1985 Stephen Mills Photography has been capturing people, events, places, and products and has taken well over a quarter-million frames of people, people in their activities, news, sports, and nature.

His passion for photography started with a first professional camera at 14-years and included doing photos for his high school yearbook, growing up in western Virginia.

While photography was not his primary career it became his secondary career more than 25 years ago.

His news and sports photos for a western daily newspaper received state and Associated Press awards for five years in a row. A number of his photos have been distributed nationwide via the Associated Press, and others have made the covers of a national motor sports racing magazine and have been used for collector cards and calendars.

He has produced thousands of photos used in advertising and promotional materials.

While working for daily newspapers and a national magazine, he also established a specialty business of weddings and personal photography.

He has worked more than 600 weddings from California, to Connecticut, to the Carolinas. His wedding photo journals document these special occasions and provide attractive memories of the wedding activities.

Over the years a number of companies including Tanger Outlet Centers, Arizona Public Service Company, and Arrow Coach Lines have utilized his photos for advertising and educational materials.

Doing work for news organizations his photos have captured many nationally recognized figures, such as actors, history makers, racing legends, and even a President. He has captured thousands of images of news events that have ranged from small town local celebrations to national breaking news.

When traveling he gathers photos of locations along the way, capturing the scenery less commonly photographed.
Family has brought him back to the mid-Atlantic region after more than two decades in the western part of the United States.

He is now available to work a multi-state area based out of the Triad and Triangle of central North Carolina.
